Sigma APO 200 - 500 mm F2.8 EX DG lens.

Sigma's got a "whale" of a lens, in the form of the APO 200 - 500 mm F2.8 EX DG. The lens offers f/2.8 through the entire zoom range. A first, Sigma claims. The lens is supplied with a dedicated APO TELE CONVERTER 2x EX DG II as a standard accessory. Look forward some very interesting focal length figures with this package on say, a DSLR with a 1.5x crop factor.

SanDisk write-once flash memory

Somewhat old news, I know.
One Febreuary 26th, Sandisk's head of consumer business, Greg Rhine announced their intention to introduce a new Flash Memory category, using a technology they call 3D memory. The result is a write-once, read-only memory card. These cards are likely to be very cheap and promise storage of 100+ years. With this, comes another addition to the existing methods of archiving digital files. "Very Cheap" sounds good to me. Let's see how that develops.
